Paul Stanley’s son Evan knows making music is worth more than just making money.
In a new interview with Dean Delray, Evan talked about making music and getting paid. He disagreed with those who become musicians just to make money and added that he would still be making music even if he didn’t make any money from it:
“There are so many better and easier ways to make way more money, than music or comedy or basically any form of art. If you want to make a lot of money quick, don’t do this. You do it because you love it and hopefully it becomes a self-sustaining thing. but [for me] it wasn’t a choice, I love this more than anything. If I couldn’t make a dime off it I would do it every second of every day, it’s the best feeling.”
Is Evan Interested In Leading Kiss?
Evan’s father and his bandmates decided to end KISS back in late 2023. The band made a new statement about making shows with avatars after the retirement, though.
Two months passed after the announcement, and there were talks if the members’ children would take over the band. Stanley responded to those:
“That’s nothing they’re interested in. Eventually, they both found their niches, and between Sophie [Simmons], Nick [Simmons], and Evan, they consider themselves brothers, sisters, and family. Look, Shannon, to me, is like my sister-in-law. Jean, and I have been together since we lived at home. So, to create this life that we’ve created for ourselves and for each other is an incredible bond.”
Evan was also asked if there had been any talks about him fronting a new version of KISS. He said he was busy with his own thing:
“No. It’s the funniest thing. People keep asking that constantly, and it’s, like, dude, you can look at like a thousand interviews where my dad says it, Gene says it, I say it, Nick [Simmons, Gene’s son] says it. It’s, like, no. That’s my dad’s thing. I’m busy with my thing.”
Evan now has both solo shows and two bands.
