Franklin Police Department officials in Tennessee have provided an update on the cause of death for singer Mandisa on Monday.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, officials confirmed that, while the official cause has yet to be determined, “there is no indication the death was the result of suspicious or criminal activity.”
Within the update, officials formally identified the deceased as Christian singer Mandisa Hundley, 47, who was found in her Beamon Dr. home last Thursday evening. Police said they are continuing to investigate her death.
The post also confirmed that the singer’s remains had also been positively identified by the medical examiner over the weekend, though her representatives had confirmed her death on April 19.
It’s currently unknown if the medical examiner performed an autopsy but a toxicology panel might have already been taken, the results of which could take several weeks.
“The Franklin Police Department sends its condolences to Hundley’s family, friends and fans,” the post concluded.
No further information as to the cause of death was provided.
As previously reported, Mandisa Lynn Hundley, best known by her stage name Mandisa, died at her home in Nashville, Tennessee, Thursday evening. Christian rock radio station K-Love first announced the news on Facebook Friday morning, telling fans representatives from the singer’s management company confirmed to the network that she passed away the previous evening.
The representative said the cause of Mandisa’s death was not yet known.
