Ozzy Osbourne is enjoying his second induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, but he doesn’t forget to talk about other acts either.
In a chat with Rolling Stone, the Black Sabbath rocker talked about the inductions of Motörhead and Foreigner. Apparently, Foreigner is a ‘cover band’ now.
Osbourne said of Foreigner’s induction:
“They should have got in ages ago.”
However, he didn’t seem happy with the band’s current lineup. He continued:
“Foreigner now, that ain’t Foreigner. It’s like a cover band.”
The Relationship Of The Members
When the inductees for the Hall Of Fame were first announced, Foreigner was not among them. However, after the support of many other rockers, Foreigner was finally inducted.
After their induction, Mick Jones and Lou Gramm shared that there was no bad blood between them.
In an email to Billboard, Jones expressed his thoughts about being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the class of 2024. Jones mentioned that he would be totally fine with Gramm attending the ceremony:
“On a personal level, I have no hard feelings toward Lou. We did perform together at the 40th anniversary concert. It has been so many years now since Lou left Foreigner; I like to think that those ill feelings are in the past. There is power in letting go of hard feelings and getting on with your life.”
‘It Was A Relief’
In an interview with News 8 WROC, Lou Gramm talked about finding out that he’ll be one of the inductees for the Rock Hall class of 2024. The rocker said it was a relief that they were finally inducted:
“It was a relief, because we have been eligible for a good long time. And we were wondering if we’d ever be in the Rock Hall Of Fame. We’ve aspired to be part of it, and it’s very satisfying now that we’re voted in. And I don’t think I don’t think we could be any happier.”
The induction ceremony is scheduled for October 19 at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio.
