Steve Hackett has updates about his health.
Hackett found himself rushed to the hospital as he was preparing for a show at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix during the weekend. The show ultimately got canceled.
The 74-year-old musician shared a photo of him in a hospital room on Facebook and apologized ‘for the scare.’ In his post, Hackett explained the unexpected turn of events that caused the cancellation of the show. He wrote:
“Hello everyone, I’m so sorry for the scare. I’d hoped to power through the Phoenix show but I had a bronchial infection and a last minute adverse reaction to medication. Consequently, the Medics took me to hospital. I am now recovering and glad to be feeling okay. I was very sad to miss the show and I will return to play in Phoenix as soon as possible. My thanks to you all for your understanding and support.”
Will Hackett Miss More Shows?
The concert was part of a tour where Hackett revisits one of the Genesis’ classic albums, ‘Foxtrot.’ The rocker also plays a few tracks from his February album ‘The Circus and the Nightwhale.’
In an interview with The Republic, Hackett discussed the tour. He said:
“I’m keeping the museum doors open in the revisited sense of Genesis. but also doing new stuff to keep it vital so I don’t entirely pension myself off into a glorious past with all those lovely exhibits, beautiful though they are, but they are of a certain time-warp value.”
It’s unclear if Hackett will miss more shows. As of Tuesday, tickets were still up on his website for his Wednesday concert in Guadalajara, Mexico, and his Friday gig in Mexico City.
