After a 5 year break, Marilyn Manson announced 3 headline shows for this summer.
Last month, Marilyn Manson announced his first tour since 2019, teaming up with Five Finger Death Punch and Slaughter To Prevail for a summer 2024 tour. Now, he’s also set to do three headline shows during breaks from that tour, marking his first solo gigs since 2019.
The rocker shared the news on his social media accounts with a new photoshoot.
The Announcements Caused Criticism
The announcement of the tour featuring Five Finger Death Punch and Marilyn Manson caused criticism because of abuse allegations against Manson. In response, FFDP guitarist Zoltan Bathory talked about the upcoming tour in a chat with The Jesea Lee Show:
“Manson hasn’t been out on the road for a while, so a lot of people wanna see him. At one point, he was one of the most iconic artists on planet Earth. So, he’s back on stage, back in the saddle. That’s gonna be amazing. He’s also sober and clean, so we always support that, obviously.”
He also added that Manson is a different person now, he is sober and ‘staying clean.’
What Are The Allegations?
Manson hasn’t hit the road for five years. His last album, ‘We Are Chaos,’ dropped in 2020 and it was Manson’s first No. 1 album in Australia since 1998’s ‘Mechanical Animals.’
After the album’s release, Manson faced serious allegations of sexual abuse from his former fiancée, actress Evan Rachel Wood. Wood accused him of abuse during their relationship. They got engaged in January 2010 but split shortly after. When Wood spoke out, other women also came forward with similar stories. This caused Manson to be dropped from his record label, Loma Vista Recordings.
