As well as finally giving Charlie Cox‘s Daredevil his own series within the MCU and bringing a bunch of his OG co-stars with him, Daredevil: Born Again will also feature some “nice little cameos,” according to Cox. After starring in three seasons of Daredevil and reprising the role in The Defenders, Charlie Cox made his MCU debut as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Since his first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans have been desperate to see Cox star in his own rebooted Daredevil series. The first trailer for Daredevil: Born Again was shown to the incredibly lucky audience at D23 and showcased the debut of the beloved Marvel Comics characters Muse and White Tiger. But Cox says there’s plenty more in store for fans.
Appearing at FanExpo Chicago (via ScreenRant), Charlie Cox teased the new character he’s most excited about seeing in Daredevil: Born Again. When asked if there’s a particular comic book that fans should read before watching Born Again next year, Cox carefully danced around the answer. The actor said there’s one storyline that he fell in love with while working on the original Daredevil, and he instantly wanted to see their dynamic with Daredevil play out on screen. He then closed his answer by teasing that some other fan-favorite characters would appear in the series. Cox said:
“I remember getting those scripts, and the character that I’m thinking about in particular right now, I remember when I read that [story] before I started doing Daredevil in 2014
. I always thought that was a really cool storyline and such an interesting character; such an interesting dynamic between the two of them
. That was really fun, and I’m really excited about that. And there are a couple of other nice little cameos that come up.”

Charlie Cox Explains Why Comic Book Adaptations Aren’t Faithful
Movie adaptations are one of the oldest forms of cinematic storytelling. Classic novels have long been a resource for filmmakers to adapt into feature films. When such adaptations are released, fans of the books instantly begin comparing the movie to the novel in terms of how faithfully it transcribed the most minute details. However, comic book movies are slightly different. Superhero films are rarely based on a single comic book story arc. Instead, they usually blend characters, themes, and key moments from several comic book runs into a new story. Fans then debate and critique the accuracy of the costumes, characters’ powers, and backstories.

Daredevil: Born Again Will Be Even More Extreme Than the Netflix Series, Jon Bernthal Teases
The Punisher star Jon Bernthal says the Daredevil revival will be even more extreme than the Netflix original.
During the conversation, Charlie Cox explained why this is. Through his tenure as Daredevil, Cox has brought countless popular Daredevil comics to life in live-action, including moments from “The Death of Karen Page” and “The Man Without Fear,” with the upcoming reboot being directly titled after Frank Miller’s “Born Again” run of Daredevil comics. Cox explained that directly adapting a comic book’s story ruins the fun and anticipation for the hundreds of thousands of fans who have already read the comic. The actor said:
“We don’t follow any of the comic books in terms of story. We don’t follow any of them closely, and there’s a number of reasons for that. One, because if you follow a storyline closely, it becomes a foregone conclusion because everyone knows how it ends. Those of you who saw the leaked trailer from D23 may have noticed a couple of interesting characters come up – I didn’t say it, you said it. The trailer’s now been taken down, so I’m not going to say anything.”
