The Inside Out spin-off series Dream Productions and the Pixar original Win or Lose have set premiere dates for Disney+. With the release of Disney+, the studio has looked to use the Pixar brand to create a wide variety of series to draw in viewers. These include Monsters at Work, a sequel series to Monsters Inc., and short series like Dug Days and Cars on the Road. Dream Productions and Win or Lose are set to see Pixar expanding their long-form TV offerings.
Dream Productions, a spin-off series to the popular Inside Out film franchise, will debut all four episodes together and premiere on Disney+ on December 11, 2024, as confirmed by Deadline. The series will take place between the events of Inside Out and Inside Out 2 and explore the studio’s inner workings behind Riley’s dreams, first glimpsed in Inside Out. Riley’s Emotions are starting to send many of her memories to Dream Productions, as they require extra processing time. Amy Poehler, Liza Lapira, Tony Hale, Lewis Black, and Phyllis Smith all reprise their roles as Riley’s Emotions from Inside Out 2, with new cast members joining, including Paula Pell, Richard Ayoade, Maya Rudolph, Ally Maki, and Kensington Tallman.
Meanwhile, Win or Lose, Pixar’s first original animated series will debut on Disney+ on February 19, 2025, rolling out new episodes weekly. The series focuses on a little league baseball team, with each of the eight episodes taking viewers into the mind and point of view of a new character, which also means a variety of different animation styles. The series is led by Will Forte as Coach Dan, who is joined by Rosa Salazar, Izaac Wang, Ian Chen, Joe Firestone, Milan Ray, Erin Keif, Rosie Foss, and Josh Thomson.

Disney+ Release Dates Have Big Meanings for New Shows
Dream Productions airing all four episodes together on December 11, 2024, is perfectly timed for the holiday season, as families gathered together can sit down and enjoy a new entry in one of Disney Pixar’s most popular franchises. Meanwhile, Win or Lose, being Disney+’s big series for February, shows great faith in the series. However, Disney reportedly already scrapped a follow-up to Win or Lose in 2023 that was never announced but only in development. While Dream Productions will be released after episode two of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, the fact that Win or Lose will be a weekly series suggests that Disney will not release a Marvel or Star Wars series during February or March 2025 to avoid them competing.
While Pixar certainly had a major rebound this year, with Inside Out 2 grossing $1.6 billion worldwide, the news was bittersweet as a report highlighted how many Pixar employees worked overtime on the movie only to be let go before the movie hit theaters and then denied the bonus they rightfully earned. Combine that with the news that Disney reportedly asked Pixar to edit Inside Out 2 so it did not feature any hint of romantic tension between Riley and the new character Val; these two television series seem to stand as a reminder of how poorly Disney has treated Pixar employees over the past few years.
