A recent claim on Facebook suggested that Wolfgang Van Halen died as a toddler. The singer addressed the rumor in a new post on Instagram.
“This is getting ridiculous,” wrote the user. “I know for a fact that Wolfgang Van Halen died as a toddler. But now they are showing him as grown and alive. He was Valerie Bertinelli and Eddie Van Halen’s son who fell from a balcony and died many years ago.”
Wolfgang shared a screenshot of the comment and captioned it, “Chat, am I alive?”
The Facebook user apparently confused Wolfgang with Eric Clapton’s son, Conor, who passed away in 1991 after falling from an open window in a high-rise building. The accident happened when the housekeeper left the window open, and Conor ran past her before she could close it.
Meanwhile, Eddie Van Halen’s son grew up safely and started making music at a young age. He played with his father in Van Halen in his early years.
The band broke up following Eddie’s death in 2020. Wolfgang then formed his own band, Mammoth WVH, and released two albums, 2021’s ‘Mammoth WVH’ and 2023’s ‘Mammoth II.’ He is currently on tour promoting the 2023 release, with his next concert set for August 16 in Minneapolis, MN.
