Mötley Crüe just released their ‘Dogs of War,’ but some of their fans are not sure it sounds like a usual Crüe song.
Crüe recently shared a video of them recording the song on Instagram. Some fans quickly noticed that something feels different. Many of them commented that the song is not bad, but it doesn’t feel like a true Mötley Crüe song:
“I really love Motley Crue, it’s actually my favorite band. But damn… This song (for me) isn’t Motley Crue.”
They said it’s missing the vibe of the band’s earlier hits:
“Love the Crue and I think John 5 is amazing, but I don’t completely feel the song. It’s not bad and the guitar playing is killer, but it’s not very memorable and definitely not TFFL/SATD quality. Looking forward to more music.”
Some even claimed ‘Dogs of War’ sounds more like something from Korn, not Mötley Crüe:
“Almost sounds like a KoRn song…”
Others felt Mick Mars’ absence more with this song:
“Someone is missing.”
‘Dogs of War’ is Their First Song After Mick Mars
Mick Mars decided to stop touring with the Crüe in 2022 and left his place to John 5. Some fans think the band’s sound changed after him.
There are some interesting details in the music video for ‘Dogs of War.’ It shows people dressed as pigs holding signs, and there’s a scene that reminds fans of the church where Slash played his ‘November Rain’ solo. Nikki Sixx asked fans on Twitter to watch the video a few times to catch them all.
Sixx also spoke about who made the new song. He said that it wasn’t just him this time — the whole band worked together on it.
