A 50-part series on TikTok from earlier this year is getting a TV adaptation. White Lotus actress Natasha Rothwell is set to star in the series as the original creator, Tareasa Johnson, and will executive produce under her production company, Big Hattie Productions.
As first reported by Variety, Rothwell is developing a series based on the 50-part “Who TF Did I Marry?” TikTok series posted by Tareasa “Reesa Teesa” Johnson earlier this year. The series garnered millions of views on social media, with each watcher awaiting the next part. The viral series was separated into over 50 videos, adding up to around 8 hours in total. It went viral on TikTok before going viral across other social media platforms like X. It gathered 450 million impressions on social media and earned Johnson more than 3 million followers in two weeks.
Posted over a two-day span, Johnson documents her relationship with her ex-husband, who she describes as a pathological liar. She details his lies surrounding attending San Diego State University to play football, and borrowing money to pay for his step-daughter’s funeral, who she found out was still alive. Also, among his red flags, she noticed his social insurance name also didn’t match their marriage license. Johnson also added in the series that he was cheating on her, and after finding out his real identity, they divorced. Despite referring to him under the alias of “Legion”, TikTok fans later found out his real name was Jerome McCoy. He has denied Johnson’s claims. You can watch the first part of the series below.
Johnson was signed to Hollywood talent agency CAA in March following her viral videos. Now based in Atlanta, she graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in criminal justice, before she studied international law and counterterrorism abroad in The Hague. She is repped by attorney Omara Harris. In a recent TikTok video posted to her account, she said she was “BEYOND excited to work with THE Natasha Rothwell”, adding that “they are about to change the game.” Rothwell acquired the TV rights for Who TF Did I Marry? under her Big Hattie Productions banner.
