Among the series and movies from HBO Max, soon to be rebranded Max in Europe, available under the deal are also the likes of ‘The Last of Us,’ ‘Succession,’ ‘Wonka,’ and ‘Dune.’
HBO Max, the streaming service of Warner Bros. Discovery, is now available to customers of Spanish streamer Movistar+’s Ficción Total package, the companies said on Tuesday.
“Customers can enjoy HBO Max via direct access through the main Movistar Plus+ navigation and the on-demand service,” they said. Financial details weren’t disclosed.
“The deal will also see WBD’s new enhanced streaming platfrom Max become available to Movistar+ customers on May 21,” the partners said. “The launch of Max is marked by the eagerly awaited second season of the HBO original series House of the Dragon season 2, which premieres in Europe on June 17th.”
Among the HBO Max series and movies now available under the deal are the likes of The Last of Us, Succession, House of the Dragon, Dune, Wonka, and Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
“This summer, Max will be the only place to watch every minute of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games,” WBD also highlighted.
Among other upcoming programming are the likes of limited series The Sympathiser, co-directed by Park Chan-wook and Don McKellar and starring the likes of Sandra Oh and Robert Downey Jr., who plays multiple roles.
“A new batch of Max Originals based on popular Warner Bros. brands will come to Max, including The Penguin and Welcome to Derry (Stephen King’s It),” WBD said. “Films from WB’s extensive library, including the Harry Potter franchise, Paddington, Matrix, The Dark Knight trilogy, Joker, and Lord of the Rings, as well as hit shows All in 90 Days, The Gold Rush, and Discovery’s Fixer Upper will also be offered.”
