What Is Walmart+?

For a monthly or yearly fee, Walmart+ members have access to a slew of benefits that other Walmart shoppers don’t receive. This includes free same-day delivery, discounts on fuel, a free Paramount+ membership, and more. 

The perk that we’re most impressed with is the free delivery, which basically allows you to shop online and have your order delivered to you within a few hours. Consider using this feature as a delivery grocery service (like Instacart) to have your pick of Walmart’s super extensive grocery aisles delivered right to your door — saving you the hassle and time involved in going to the grocery store, searching the aisles, and lugging heavy bags home.

How to Sign Up for Walmart+

Signing up for Walmart+ is easy — just follow the link to the website, click on the button that says “claim your free trial,” and add your email when prompted. If you already have a standard Walmart account, you’ll be asked to enter your password. If you don’t already have an account, you can enter your name, phone number, and password to make one. Then, you’ll have the option to choose between the monthly payment plan and the annual payment plan. Choose your desired plan, then add in your payment method of choice to get started with your free 30-day trial. 

If you decide to cancel your trial before the 30 days are up, just go to your account page, click Walmart+, then the gear icon, and select cancel. If you cancel before the auto-renew date, you won’t be charged. 

Walmart+ Cost and Plans

There are a few options available when signing up for a Walmart+ membership. You can choose the standard membership and pay either a monthly rate of $13 or a yearly rate of $98. The yearly plan breaks down to a cost of $8 per month, so if you know that you’ll want to enjoy the benefits of a Walmart+ membership all year long, this plan will ultimately save you $58 compared to the monthly plan. 

Students can take advantage of special savings on Walmart+ memberships. For those who are 18 years or older and are a current or incoming student at Title IV-accredited schools in the US, you can get a Walmart+ membership for $6 per month or $49 per year. To get verified as a student, you have to fill out an eligibility verification form through SheerID, which you’ll be directed to from the Walmart+ website when you go to enroll. 

Walmart also offers a discounted plan for anyone who qualifies for government assistance programs, including ​​SNAP, WIC, and Medicaid, as long as you have the necessary documents to prove your eligibility. Walmart+ Assist plans cost $6 per month or $49 per year for those eligible.

Free Shipping 

Ever canceled your online order because you didn’t want to pay for shipping? Yeah, us, too. That’s where Walmart+ comes in clutch by offering free shipping on any product sold by Walmart, excluding those categorized as “oversized” or “freight.” 

Free Delivery

Separate from free shipping, the free delivery perk also allows you to get your order delivered to you on the same day. Just pick the delivery slot that works best for you, add items to your cart, and checkout to have your purchase brought right to your door. This makes it easy to shop Walmart’s huge array of grocery items without wasting time searching through the aisles. You’ll get the delivery fee waived if your purchase is over $35, but even if your order total doesn’t reach the minimum, you’ll only pay a $7 order minimum fee. Delivery times vary by store, but in general, delivery slots range from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Gas Savings

Members, start your engines! Joining Walmart+ offers impressive fuel benefits, including a discount of 10 cents per gallon at Exxon and Mobil stations, plus up to 10 cents off at select Walmart and Murphy stations. To access these savings at the pump, open the Walmart app, click on the W+ membership page, then follow the instructions listed there. 

Scan & Go Shopping 

Save time by using your phone to scan items in-store and checkout right there in the app. Once you’re done shopping, just scan the QR code on your phone at self-checkout, bag your items up, and head out on your way with less time spent waiting in lines. 

Autocare

The Walmart+ membership also gives you access to the Walmart Auto Care Centers, where you can get a free Road Hazard warranty on any tires that they install for you. You’re also entitled to unlimited, free tire repair on any personal vehicle, whether you own it or not.

Paramount+ Membership 

Huge news for movie buffs — signing up for Walmart+ also gives you a free Paramount+ Essential Plan membership, which includes access to their huge library of hit movies and TV shows like Survivor, Ru Paul’s Drag Race, and Top Gun Maverick. To activate your free Paramount+ account, open your Walmart+ account page, click on “video streaming benefit”, and follow the instructions to link your account. 

Returns From Home
