After the Death Angel controversy, another band is dropping out of W.A.S.P.’s fall tour.
The band Unto Others were set to be one of the support acts but just announced that they have been pulled from the lineup in a social media statement. Unto Others said they were removed from the tour ‘with no warning or chance to discuss it.’ They also mentioned that they don’t have a backup plan to fill their spot.
“We will not be touring with W.A.S.P. this fall,” they wrote. “They have decided it is in their best interest to drop us from the tour. This came with no warning or room for discussion on our end, and with 7 weeks to go before the run, really leaves us with minimal time to plan a suitable alternative. As I’m sure many will be left wondering why, we will tell you only the facts we know: – W.A.S.P. told our team we never provided a marketing plan (we did, multiple times and have been working very hard promoting this tour and our new record.)”
“That’s it. No other reason was given,” the band revealed the reason. “We are disappointed with this decision, we are all W.A.S.P. fans, and it’s a shame when things work out this way so we are sorry. We will get some North American dates going as soon as we can and keep you updated. Subsequently, we have to cancel our Halloween show at Jackknife Brewing in Kelowna, BC which was routed as part of this tour. On a more positive note: We are playing Maryland Death Fest Pre-Fest in Baltimore, MD on May 21st 2025.”
Before Unto Others, Death Angel also dropped off from the tour back in August. On August 13, it was announced that Armored Saint would replace Death Angel as the main support act for W.A.S.P.
Death Angel drummer Will Carroll later posted and then deleted a statement on social media. “Well, this has been a week of sh*tty news and (and it’s only Wednesday),” the drummer wrote. “Now that the tour’s been canceled I have a bunch of time freed up for the remainder of the year. Instead of falling deeper into depression (which really doesn’t suit me), I plan on staying busy with the drumming.”
“Please don’t ask me why we’re not on the WASP tour in the comments below,” he added. “I think it’s pretty f*cking obvious…”
Right now, W.A.S.P. is scheduled to start their tour on October 26 in San Luis Obispo, California, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their debut album. Armored Saint will support them, and the tour will run through December 14 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.
