Vixen revealed that their new singer is Rosa Laricchiuta after the Erik Grönwall speculation.
Vixen has chosen Laricchiuta as their new lead vocalist after Lorraine Lewis left the band in May. Rosa performed with Vixen for the first time on June 21 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, with Great White, Slaughter, and Quiet Riot.
Laricchiuta is a singer and songwriter from Montreal, Quebec. After years of performing live, she auditioned for ‘La Voix’ (Quebec’s version of ‘The Voice’) in 2015. She chose Éric Lapointe as her coach and made it to the Grand Finale, performing with stars like Def Leppard and Kelly Clarkson. Rosa impressed many viewers and became known as Quebec’s new top female rocker.
After releasing an album in Quebec, she started working on her first English album in 2016. The album, ‘Free,’ came out the next year. Later, she joined the famous American band Trans-Siberian Orchestra for their annual U.S. tour. In August 2020, her hard rock band Black Rose Maze released their debut album, ‘Black Rose Maze.’
Lewis’ Statements On Leaving Vixen
Lewis left Vixen after five years of performing with them. She announced the news on her Instagram with this statement:
“Vixen Tribe and devoted fans: The band has taken a different direction, and as much as I will miss you please know that more Rock & Roll from me is on the way!”
Lorraine added:
“It has been an honor to front the band since that first show in 2019 & I am forever grateful for the opportunity and memories that came with it! I’ve had the time of my life and have loved rockin’ with ALL of you! I can’t wait to rock your faces off again soon because trust me babes, I’m not going anywhere! I love you.”
Last month, Grönwall responded to rumors about joining Vixen in an Instagram post. He shared a photoshopped picture of himself in a Vixen outfit and wrote:
“A friend of mine made this picture for me. Apparently, the band Vixen is (or was) looking for a new singer and he thought I’d be a good fit. Thoughts on this? And yes my friend… revenge is a dish best served cold. You know who you are. I’m coming for you.”
In January 2019, Vixen brought in Lewis as their new lead singer after Janet Gardner left. Lewis had filled in for Gardner in March 2018 in Durant, Oklahoma, while Gardner recovered from surgery. Vixen has over a dozen shows planned for the summer and early fall.
