Mötley Crüe is working on new songs, but it seems that Vince Neil is sidelined.
The Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx shared the news on his X account that he and Tommy Lee have been working on new stuff.
The band’s latest original release was back in 2008 with the album ‘Saints Of Los Angeles.’ The rockers released a few live albums, but no new music dropped since then.
In the new post, Sixx didn’t mention working with their singer. He wrote:
“Great week for Crüe- worked on new songs with 5 for the summer shows- Me and Tommy came up with a cool setlist and the stage set is moving along nicely. Lots of planning for new music release and boatloads of press being confirmed. I have this say, this was a Good Friday.”
What Could Be Causing The Sidelining?
After Mick Mars’ split with the band, the rockers started working with John 5 as their new guitarist. Since his split, Mars sued the band over ownership issues and also talked about the struggles Neil has been facing.
Neil faced backlash from fans and online critics about his weight and singing abilities. The criticism peaked after a solo show in 2021 when he had to stop singing mid-song due to voice issues. As a result, Neil had to take a break from performing, but he later announced his comeback with new tour dates. Mars said of Neil’s struggles as a singer:
“Well, it is what it is. The road takes a toll on everybody, really. And, it’s kind of like family — people fall out and people come back. And it’s just the way it works. It’s just the way it works.”
Though we don’t entirely know whose side Neil is on now, it seems that Lee and Sixx agree and work as a team.
