Prince Andrew is about to get a lot more focus with a Netflix film about his infamous Newsnight interview in 2019 set to be released today.
Titled ‘Scoop’, the drama will tell the story of Andrew’s interview with Emily Maitlis which shocked the nation, partly down to his incredibly unusual answers and partly because it offered more insight on his friendship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
In the past, Andrew lived at Buckingham Palace and plenty of unusual claims have been made about what was inside his bedroom.
Various former palace workers have spoken out about Andrew’s bedroom, which featured plenty of teddies on the bed. A former palace maid, Charlotte Briggs, worked there in the mid-90s and she has claimed that Andrew has 72 teddies on his bed.
Andrew’s careful teddy arrangement
She said the toys had to be lined up in size order, and it took staff an entire day to be trained on how to arrange them on his bed.
She told the Sun: “As soon as I got the job, I was told about the teddies, and it was drilled into me how he wanted them. I even had a day’s training. Everything had to be just right. It was so peculiar.
“But he absolutely loved the teddies and was very clear about how he wanted them arranged.”
A separate ITV documentary has featured claims about the handwritten guide that existed to arrange the toys and other items in the room.
Former royal protection officer Paul Page claimed that the handwritten guide is said to have included two toy hippos, a black panther and bears, as well as three cushions called ‘Daddy’, ‘Ducks’ and ‘Prince’.
It showed exactly where to place blankets, as well as five toys and a fur, which had ribbons that had to hang off the side of the bed.
