U2’s The Edge shared a simple tip for having a long-standing marriage.
The guitarist and his wife, Morleigh Steinberg spoke with People about their marriage at the Venice Family Clinic’s first HEART Gala. The Edge stated:
“I think compatibility and friendship is a huge thing for us. We fell in love, but we knew each other well, and I would say keep falling in love. It doesn’t happen just once. It keeps happening.”
The couple has been married for 22 years. During the event, they received the first-ever HEART Award for their support of the Venice Family Clinic. The clinic offers healthcare, food, insurance help, and harm reduction services to over 45,000 people.
Bono’s Words On His Mother
Another U2 member Bono also talked about his family life lately. Bono shared on the Kelly Corrigan Wonders podcast that his family didn’t talk about his mother after she passed away when he was 14. The singer mentioned that he didn’t know much about his mother, Iris. He wrote his 2022 memoir, ‘Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story,’ to help bring back memories of her. He shared:
“And I thought, I don’t want my memories of my mother to pass me by completely. And they were getting less and less and less. That’s because when she died I was 14, and my father just didn’t speak about her. We didn’t speak about her. Very Irish male situation. So I can’t really recall how she spoke. I remember feelings though.”
In April, another band member, Adam Clayton, and his wife of 10 years, Mariana Teixeira de Carvalho, announced their divorce. They said they’d take care of their daughter, Alba, together and wanted privacy.
