Taylor Swift wished the Prince of Wales a happy birthday after William attended Wembley’s concert with his two children, Prince George and Prince Charlotte.
The Eras Tour kicked off in London last week, and none other than Taylor Swift‘s boyfriend has commented on their royal reception.
Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, appeared onstage during the pop star’s set at London’s Wembley arena on Sunday. Kelce dressed in a tuxedo for the performance of “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” But it wasn’t the only viral moment of the night — Swift shared on her social media afterward a selfie with the Prince of Wales and his two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
Swift wrote on X: “Happy Bday M8!” referencing William’s 42nd birthday on June 21. “London shows are off to a splendid start.” Kelce, grinning in the background, stood behind the heir to the throne.
Kelce relived the royal meet-up on his podcast New Heights, telling his brother, Jason: “[Prince William] was the coolest motherfucker. They were an absolute delight to me. I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to bow to them or curtsy, or just be an American idiot and shake their hand.”
Jason Kelce, who retired from the NFL earlier this year, added that the highlight for him was actually 9-year-old Charlotte. “Prince George was great too, but she was so fucking adorable,” he said. “I cannot express how much of a superstar she was. Maybe it’s because I have three girls now, but she had fire to her, she was asking questions. That was the most electric part of it.”
Swift will return to London for another five nights of her world tour in August. The Eras Tour is projected to bring around 997 million pounds ($1.26 billion) into the U.K. economy thanks to fans spending an average of 848 pounds to see her live.
Barclay’s “Swiftonomics” report also said that attending one of her 15 U.K. tour dates is expected to be more than 12 times the average cost of a U.K. night out (67 pounds) and even higher than the cost of a bachelor or bachelorette party (779 pounds).
