Tracii Guns recently responded to a fan on X who asked about the best guitarist he has seen perform live.
“Besides the obvious ones. I have to say John Frusciante is the most captivating guitarist I’ve seen live,” he wrote.
John Frusciante made a name for himself after joining Red Hot Chili Peppers to replace Hillel Slovak in 1988. His first record with the band, ‘Mother’s Milk,’ arrived a year later.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted Frusciante along with his bandmates in 2012. Rolling Stone named him the 25th greatest guitarist of all time in 2023.
The guitarist also kicked off a solo career in the 1990s. His latest album, an ambient record named ‘I and II,’ came out last year. Now, he’s reportedly working on new material with RHCP.
The band wrapped their latest tour a short while ago. Drummer Chad Smith said they wouldn’t hit the road next year but would start writing new music soon.
