Tommy Lee’s recent criticism of Donald Trump for selling Bibles caused a backlash.
Now that Trump is selling Bibles, Seth Meyers joked about it during his A Closer Look segment on Late Night by referring to Trump’s legal troubles. The drummer of Mötley Crüe shared this clip from Meyer’s show on Instagram and wrote in the caption:
“And if you believe this guy or this book will save you, you might need to f*cking buy 2 or 3… Just in time for Easter, hurry!”
People Harshly Reacted To The Rocker
But Lee’s attack on the former president received mostly negative reactions. One person wrote:
“Stick to music, Tommy.”
Another user commented:
“Getting political advice from Tommy Lee is about as ‘bottom of the barrel’ as you can get.”
One other individual also told Tommy Lee to mind his own business:
“How many Ferraris and mansions and hookers and bags of coke have you bought hocking merchandise over the years? Maybe consider staying in your lane on this one.”
Another person said they didn’t want to listen to his political opinions, writing:
“Tommy, remember that you are just a washed-up drug addict at the end of the day. Not a political commentator. Thanks.”
Lee’s Earlier Comments On Trump
This is not the first time Lee has criticized Trump. In 2020, before the November 2020 elections, the musician said he’d go back to Greece if Trump won. He told the Big Issue:
“Dude, I swear to God, if that happens, then I’m coming over to visit the UK – I’m out of here. I will go back to my motherland, go back to Greece, and get a house on one of the islands. The thing that stings the most is that I feel like we’re embarrassing. I feel like people in Europe and the rest of the world look at America and think: ‘What the f*ck are you guys doing over there? Stop voting for celebrities and get someone real to run the country.’”
Trump launched his new product, a $60 ‘God Bless The USA’ Bible, last Tuesday. This leather-bound Bible has copies of important American documents inside. Trump promoted it on his Truth Social platform, and people can buy the Bible online for $59.99.
