Tommy Lee recently opened up about his job before hitting the big stage with Mötley Crüe. When Theo Von asked if it was true that he went out with women for money in an interview on YouTube, the drummer explained:
“Yes. There was this lady that was in our apartment complex. She was like a madame. She was running her thing, and I got paid to go out with these older women and just sit there and have dinner with them or if they wanted to fuck, do that, too. I did that for about a year or two.”
He added:
“Yeah, there was good money in it. It’s kind of crazy. I was a hooker! Kind of, I guess. A male escort?”
The Drummer Says He Was ‘Stoked’
Lee co-founded Mötley Crüe with Nikki Sixx in 1981. They released their debut album within the same year and gradually rose to fame. The drummer shared whether his job before that was embarrassing by saying:
“If the lady was like an older lady where you’re like, ‘Well, I hope this is just dinner,’ you know, you’re stoked. ‘I’m just gonna have dinner and drinks and just entertain her,’ and that’s it. You’re stoked when that would happen.”
He commented:
“Sometimes they wanted more, and you’re like, ‘Oh, man…’ That part’s not fun ’cause, I don’t know, fucking when you’re not into it is a weird thing.”
His Music Career Will Get New Material Soon
Tommy Lee’s latest track with Mötley Crüe, ‘Dogs of War,’ came out earlier this year. Nikki Sixx teased two new singles in late July by telling Rock 102.1 KFMA:
“When somebody takes a conversation of mine and they say, ‘Hey, are you planning on going in the studio?’ And I say, ‘We don’t see a reason to go in the studio right now.’ ’Cause we just recorded three songs in April 2023. We were just in the recording studio. We have a second single coming. We have a third single coming. So we’re not in a rush to… Vince [Neil] lives in Tennessee. I live in Wyoming. We’re on tour.”
The band will also begin a tour in Springfield, IL, on August 10. They’ll be on the road until October.
