Tom Hardy, the iconic actor who recently starred in Venom: The Last Dance, may seem to be done with the Marvel franchise in the short run, but he isn’t quite finished experimenting. Hardy will make his comic debut with Arcbound, a new sci-fi series published by Dark Horse and created by New York Times best-selling author Scott Snyder (Absolute Batman) and comics veteran Frank Tieri (New Excalibur).
Arcbound is a 12-issue series with contributions by Tom Hardy, Ryan Ottley, Clay Mann, Tyler Kirkham, Rose Besch, and Dan Panosian, and will be released on November 13, 2024. While Ryan Smallman (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) is responsible for the comic’s art, Franky William and Buddy Beaudoin will serve as Colorist and Letterer, respectively.
Dark Horse‘s official synopsis for Arcbound reads as follows:
In a future where Earth has become a barren wasteland, Zynitec harnesses the unmatched energy of Kronium to assert its dominion across the stars. When Kai, a rising star Mediator in Zynitec’s army, gets an unexplained message from a mysterious entity, everything he thinks he believes is thrown into question—and leaves him to explore what it truly means to be human in a world where the boundaries of technology and identity blur.
Even though Arcbound has 12 issues, only the first one will be released on Nov. 13, with a Kickstarter campaign offering the special edition hardcover of the first volume, while the remaining volumes will be launched in the coming weeks. In fact, Snyder told Variety that the special edition will feature not only the first volume but also interviews and designs that will help readers get better acquainted with Arcbound.
We’re beyond excited to announce the Kickstarter for our Special Edition Hardcover, which collects the entire first story arc along with interviews, designs, and loads of back matter.
Tom Hardy Is Excited About Arcbound’s Release
Arcbound marks Hardy’s comic debut as both a contributor and promoter, so it goes without saying that he is enthused about it. However, for the Mad Max star, comics are a way of passionate storytelling that he has always admired and wished to contribute. He spoke to Variety about how Arcbound reinvigorated his love of comics. In his own words,
“I have always felt that comics are a fantastic playground for the creative process, a process I’m continuously drawn to in all aspects of storytelling. From a small creative team comes epic worlds, built together without any budget constraints— the only limitation is the team’s imagination. It’s an honor to have the opportunity to work alongside such industry legends as Scott, Frank, and Ryan in helping to bring the ‘Arcbound’ universe to life.”

Tom Hardy’s 8 Best TV Roles, Ranked
As much as Tom Hardy stands tall and strong as a fantastic film actor, it would not hurt to dive into the equally enthralling television roles.
While Hardy is currently committed to Arcbound, he plans to appear in a variety of projects in the coming years, including Havoc, Mad Max: The Wasteland, Blood on Snow, and War Party. Additionally, the Oscar-nominated actor has a prominent role in The Donovans, starring alongside Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren. Fans, on the other hand, are more enthusiastic about seeing him return to the MCU in a greater capacity than as a cameo, like in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Arcbound will be released on November 13, 2024. A digital copy is also available for pre-order on Amazon.
