Tom Hardy gets ready to face more symbiots in the latest look at Venom: The Last Dance. A new TV spot titled the “Future” showcases Hardy in several fast-paced action sequences and close encounters, with Venom: The Last Dance finding Hardy’s Eddie Brock/Venom taking on a planetary level threat in the final chapter of Sony Pictures’ Venom Saga. “There is an army coming that cannot be beaten,” Venom tells his best pal Eddie Brock in the new footage, which you can check out below.
The footage opens with the symbiote warning Eddie that more of his kind are coming and the one leading the assault is its creator. Knull, god of darkness and creator of the symbiotes, including Venom, will seemingly invade the earth with a swarm of symbiotes in the sequel, and Eddie Brock/Venom find themselves on the run. We see the symbiotes and a fanged creature attacking Venom on top of an airplane while more tentacled hounds lead the charge on the ground as they attack an army base. Up against impossible odds, the text ominously reads “Venom’s past could end our future.”
Screenwriter, Kelly Marcel, who also penned the script for the 2021 sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, will make her directorial debut with the third outing, with Marcel teaming up with Hardy to write the story. Hardy stars alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor (Doctor Strange, 12 Years a Slave), Juno Temple (Ted Lasso, Fargo), Rhys Ifans (House of the Dragon, Notting Hill) and Alanna Ubach (Ted, Meet the Fockers). Peggy Lu returns as Mrs. Chen and Stephen Graham returns as Detective Mulligan.
Is This The Last Of Venom?
Fans were saddened to hear the news The Last Dance would be the third and final installment of Venom’s story. The original film premiered back in 2018 to huge success at the box office but mixed reviews, earning an 80% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes alongside a 30% critics’ score. The second film, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, performed better as it received high ratings of 84% and 57% respectively. Hardy posted a sentimental message on social media regarding his experience leading the franchise and confirming that it would end.
“Thank you for a great time – and seven years. I’ve had the best experience working with Venom. This is me and the big guy’s last outing, going out with a Bang!!! Come see us off – last in the trilogy and done.”

10 Characters Fans Want to See in Venom: The Last Dance
Fans hope to see these iconic characters face up against Venom on the big screen.
However, despite the main Venom series ending, this may not be the last time we see Hardy as Eddie Brock. Marvel fans will remember the Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021) post-credits scene in which Venom was transported into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Hardy’s Brock then featuring in the finale of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). Furthermore, we know Marvel Studios loves manufacturing cameo opportunities, as seen in this summer’s box office smash Deadpool & Wolverine, so there is absolutely a future for the character in the multiversal madness if Hardy and Sony Pictures are interested. Until then, fans will just have to wait, meme, and manifest the meeting of Hardy’s Venom and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.
