It has now been confirmed by star Tom Hardy himself that this month’s Venom: The Last Dance will be his final outing as Eddie Brock…but it sounds like it won’t be the end for the titular symbiote. Speaking with Extra TV, Hardy declared that it’s not “over” for Venom, with the actor teasing that there will be more to come from the Lethal Protector. He just won’t be bonded with Eddie.
“I don’t think it’s over for Venom. There’s so much to do with him.”
Hardy, who has now portrayed both Eddie Brock and Venom in three movies, had nothing but good things to say about working on the Sony/Marvel franchise, saying he will miss “coming to work with my friends, really, and that’s including Eddie and Venom.” While the actor may be leaving the characters behind, he plans to stick with the Venom voice, revealing that he always uses “on my dog when he talks to me.”
Tom Hardy Wouldn’t Bet on Himself Against Tom Holland’s Spider-Man
Venom: The Last Dance will be the end of the road for star-crossed pals Eddie and Venom, but it certainly sounds more and more like there will be more from the fan-favorite symbiote. The Last Dance director Kelly Marcel recently revealed that the villain Knull, who will be introduced in Venom 3, will play a big part in the Sony Spider-Man Universe going forward, and that “there are lots of symbiote stories in the canon.”
“This is just the introduction to Knull. He’s a massive, massive character so you can never be one-and-done with him. This is just a little taster of Knull. We get to meet him. What the future holds for him, who knows. The plot for Eddie and Venom closes here. But as you know, there are lots of symbiote stories in the canon. There are lots of places to go, and maybe there are a few Easter eggs in here that might start that journey off.”

Venom: The Last Dance could be the perfect guilty pleasure.
Venom has bonded with several characters aside from Eddie over the years, the most famous of which being Flash Thompson, who successfully manages to weaponize the symbiote and becomes known as Agent Venom. So, it would not be too difficult for the Venom series to continue without Tom Hardy at its center. There’s also the madness of the multiverse and the Avengers sequels to consider. Of course, Venom is also known for bonding with Spider-Man, and while the web-slinger has yet to make an appearance in the Sony universe, Hardy has teased a possible battle in the future. Though he tells Extra TV that he wouldn’t bet on himself…
“I think Tom Holland’s the best Spider-Man who has ever played. I’m really fond of him. I think he’s a great actor and a great kid — I mean, grown man now. I’m an old man. I’d like to work with him.
No, I’m too old for that. He’ll know he’d been in a fight though.”
Directed by Kelly Marcel, Venom: The Last Dance stars Tom Hardy, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach and Stephen Graham, and follows Eddie and Venom on the run and being hunted by both of their worlds.
