Former Three Days Grace frontman Adam Gontier will be working with the band.
The band recently shared a video message on social media. In the video, Gontier leaves a voicemail for Walst, saying, “Hey Matt, It’s Adam… Uh, I’m just running a few minutes behind, but I’ll be at the studio soon, if you could just let everybody know. Alright man, bye.”
The clip hints at a potential collaboration or reunion.
Three Days Grace released their fourth album, ‘Transit of Venus,’ on October 2, 2012. However, the band faced a major change when Adam Gontier announced his departure in January 2013, just before a planned co-headline tour with Shinedown.
There are no details about the upcoming project yet, but there are a few possibilities. Gontier’s message about meeting the band in the studio suggests new music is in progress. However, whether it will feature Gontier and Matt Walst is unclear. This could mean Gontier’s return, a guest spot, or something else.
One key element in the teaser is the ‘2X’ logo under the band’s name. Since the band released ‘One-X’ with Gontier, they might be revisiting that record. The ‘2X’ could also mean involvement from both singers or a reference to a comeback for Gontier.
For the past few years, there have been some talks about Gontier’s possible return. Now with the recent message, it’s more than just a rumor.
