Thom Yorke recently shared that he doesn’t care about fans wanting Radiohead to reunite.
During an interview with Australian outlet Double J, the frontman was asked about fans’ speculations about the band’s future. “I am not aware of it and don’t really give a flying f*ck,” he responded.
Yorke mentioned that Radiohead is not his main focus right now. He believes he and the band deserve the freedom to work on their individual projects. “No offense to anyone and err, thanks for caring. But I think we’ve earned the right to do what makes sense to us without having to explain ourselves or be answerable to anyone else’s historical idea of what we should be doing.”
While Colin Greenwood shared in September that the band members came together for rehearsals and had a good time, he more recently shared that he didn’t know anything about a reunion talk.
“I don’t know, because I haven’t had [the talk],” the bassist said. “But I was talking to Nick [Cave] about this too. He’s just such an amazing listener, and he was saying that Radiohead would be in a position to go and do whatever we wanted in terms of when we play, what we play and how we play.”
Recently, guitarist Jonny Greenwood also mentioned that the band has no plans for 2025, regarding both new music and shows.
Radiohead’s other guitarist, Ed O’Brien, is currently working on a new solo album. It will be a follow-up to his 2020 release, ‘Earth.’ Meanwhile, Yorke has adapted Radiohead’s 2003 album ‘Hail To The Thief’ for a new production of Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet,’ set to premiere in Manchester in April 2025.
