Merit Beauty’s second skincare product recently dropped, and it already has rave reviews.
The Great Skin Priming Moisturizer just launched in August and has earned dozens of positive ratings so far, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see it showing up in more daily routines. Since its debut in 2022, the brand’s Glow Serum has been used on Sarah Jessica Parker — who has also worn Merit’s beloved cream blush on And Just Like That… Both of those products were also used last month to get Lily Collins red carpet-ready for the premiere of Emily in Paris Season 4.
Keep reading for a closer look at what’s in Merit’s new skin-soothing formula and why one reviewer called it “hydration magic.”
Merit Beauty Great Skin Priming Moisturizer
This lightweight priming moisturizer readies your skin for applying makeup. Just like the Instant Glow Serum, it’s made with Merit’s proprietary Great Skin Complex that includes peptides, spermidine, and barrier polysaccharides, which the brand says boost the tone, firmness, and elasticity of your skin. Other ingredients include glycerin and oat extract, both natural moisturizers, and hyaluronic acid for hydration.
Since its release, Merit’s moisturizer has already received a lot of praise. “I love that it is not greasy and just melts into my skin for a great pre-makeup primer and moisturizer in one,” wrote the aforementioned buyer.
“Every time I apply this product, my skin feels extremely hydrated and is glowing,” explained another person. “It also looks amazing under makeup.” A third shopper said it’s “silky, smooth, unscented, and feels beautiful on the skin.”
The moisturizer isn’t advertised as having a scent but several reviewers have said they love the subtle, natural smell it adds once applied. The Merit Great Skin Moisturizer is $38 for a 50 milliliter bottle, which is available on the brand’s website and at Sephora. Keep scrolling for a few other popular picks from the beauty brand.
