R.L. Stine fans have a lot to celebrate these days, as not only is the second season of Goosebumps returning to Disney+ and Hulu in less than three months, but almost all episodes of the original series are now streaming for free on Tubi. Premiering in 1995 on YTV in Canada and Fox Kids here in the United States, Goosebumps was one of those shows that helped shaped your childhood if you grew up in the ’90s, adapting Stine’s classic novel series into different episodes that explored everything from evil ventriloquist dummies to possessed theme parks.
Per Bloody Disgusting, all four seasons of the original Goosebumps can now be found free on Tubi, with almost every episode accounted for. The only exceptions are those that were split into two parts, which unfortunately include such favorites as “The Haunted Mask,” “A Night in Terror Tower,” “The Werewolf of Fever Swamp,” “The Haunted Mask II,” “Welcome to the Dead House,” and “The Night of the Living Dummy III.” Viewers looking for those primo entries will have to have a Netflix subscription if they want to check them out, but still, 68 out of 74 episodes on Tubi isn’t bad at all.
For those wondering what all the fuss is about, it’s best to check out the series for yourself, but if you really want to know how important Goosebumps was to ’90s kids, look no further than Stine’s novels. Beginning in 1992 with Welcome to Dead House, there were a total of 62 books in the original series, which was praised for its dark undertones and unique villains that attracted kids to reading. And those covers! Chef’s kiss! They were a cut above other middle grade novels at the time, offering something different from the likes of The Baby-Sitters Club and Sweet Valley High, and by the time the TV series premiered, kids were ready to see their favorite books come to life. For those that were able to handle the frights, they would go on to become lifelong horror fans that still give Goosebumps its props for getting them into the genre in the first place.
Goosebumps Remains a Strong Franchise
Now boasting a total of 240 books in the series, the Goosebumps franchise has remained relevant over the years thanks to not only its plethora of reading material, but also thanks to its film and TV adaptations as well. The 2015 theatrical version starring Jack Black was a big hit with kids, and though its 2018 sequel wasn’t received well, Disney recognized the franchise’s drawing power, and thus created an updated version of the classic TV show.
Premiering in 2023 on Disney+ and Hulu, Goosebumps was an instant hit with fans, drawing a huge number of viewers to become the third most-watched series across all streaming platforms in its second week out. The series was renewed for Season 2 in February of this year, and on January 10, 2025, Goosebumps: The Vanishing will debut to fans who have been eagerly anticipating its return.

The 90s was a great decade for horror TV shows, and these iconic series paved the way for the television horror boom in later decades.
However, don’t expect it to pick up from where the first season left off, as the show has opted to go down the anthological route, telling a different story with a new cast of characters. This includes Friends star David Schwimmer, who plays dad to Devin (Sam McCarthy) and Cece (Jayden Bartels), two non-identical twins who embark on a journey to uncover the truth behind the mysterious disappearance of four teenagers in 1994.
