Antony Starr says The Boys Season 4’s breast milk scene was the weirdest he has been part of in the show. This is a pretty bold claim, especially when taking into account the depraved antics that Homelander has been part of since the beginning of the superhero series. However, according to the actor, while speaking at The Boys’ SDCC panel on Friday, there was something about the psychology of the scene that really made it much more bizarre than anything else he has previously done.
The scene in question happened in Episode 6, “Dirty Business”, when Firecracker (Valorie Curry) reveals to Homelander that she had been taking a drug to help allow her to express breast milk like a pregnant woman. For those who are well-versed in the nuances of The Boys’ characters, it does not need to be explained that Homelander and breast milk go together like Billy Butcher and a barrage of profanity. The scene sees Firecracker squirting milk directly into Homelander’s face, and, subsequently, feeding him directly from her breast like a baby.
Citing the scene as the one that stands out at the strangest of the entire season, Starr said (via ScreenRant):
“I’ve done a lot of strange things in my career, but one of the stranger things was when I opened it and this human being in front of me [laughs], we get on great, so everything I’m going to say is in context, was when you have breast milk ejecting. That was the weirdest thing because it wasn’t so much, I mean we’ve done weird sh-t on the show, admittedly, everyone’s done weird sh-t. But it was the psychology behind it, and it turned into this love scene.”
The Boys is Setting Up A Huge Final Season
While Homelander’s milk fetish is certain to continue in the final season of The Boys, it is clear that Firecracker is doing herself some serious damage in order to cater to her boss’s needs. But that is certainly not the biggest story that will continue in the upcoming fifth season of the show.
In the Season 4 finale of The Boys, Butcher was heading off for a showdown with Homelander, armed with a Supe-killing virus and a demon on his shoulder in the form of Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Joe Kessler. The rest of The Boys had been picked off by Vought enforcers and Supes, except for Starlight, who managed to regain her powers just in time to escape capture or worse. In the meantime, Ashley Barrett takes drastic measures to avoid becoming a victim on Homelander’s hit list, injecting herself with Compound-V and starting off a “grotesque” change which will be revealed when the series returns in 2026.
