The season finale of The Acolyte has finally aired, and fans seem to be happy about it. Following its two-episode premiere on June 4, 2024, for seven weeks, the series has been appointment television for Star Wars fans and a major summer event. The series has generated a great deal of discussion, both positive and negative. The series was subject to review bombing before the first episode aired. Due to the nature of the show generating a lot of pre-negative buzz from a specific subset of fans, it became challenging to wade through actual criticism and bad faith criticism.
Following the season finale, fans of Star Wars and The Acolyte appear to be pretty positive. Taking a look at X, formerly Twitter, the general reaction seems to be rather positive. Despite some fans feeling the journey to the end had some bumps in the road, it appears the finale, for many, stuck the landing, and there are hopes for what the future has in store for the series. Take a look at some reactions below.

The Acolyte Season Two
The Acolyte both wraps up its central story but sets the stage for a potential season two. At the moment, Lucasfilm has not confirmed that The Acolyte will return for season two. The next Star Wars series set to air will be Skeleton Crew, which will air on Disney+ during the holiday season of 2024. 2025 will bring Andor season two and possibly Ahsoka season two. Fans have currently been campaigning for The Acolyte season two renewal on various social media sites.
With the season finale getting such positive reviews, there is hope that Disney and Lucasfilm are confident in season two. Obviously, there are still fans who will be upset about anything The Acolyte did due to an already-established bias, but hopefully, Lucasfilm listens to the more positive reactions or at least good-faith criticisms of the series that focus more on pacing and production design as opposed to some of the nastier criticisms leveled at the show. Even if the series does not get a second season, much like story elements from Solo: A Star Wars Story, there is a good chance the characters and storylines will be delved into more through books, comics, and video games.
