Ted Nugent recently appeared on America’s Voice, where he shared the two names he thinks could sing like him. While discussing his career, Nugent shared that he almost passed out while on the road for 32 nights for his final tour, ‘Adios Mofo. He then expressed his passion for music and shared the names:
“The music makes me do it. I am Chuck Berry, and James Brown, and Wilson Pickett. I am the Motown’s Funk Brothers. I am Little Richard, listen to the opening lick.”
After listening to his song ‘Wango Tango,’ he shared his excitement. Then he added:
“Nobody can do that but me and Little Richard, that’s it. Bon Scott, maybe. Who else? Sammy Hagar, one time I saw Sammy Hagar sound like Little Richard. Me, Little Richard, and Sammy Hagar, that’s it. What a great, great musical celebration my life has been for seventy-five years.”
Earlier, Nugent shared his favorite 11 albums, which included Little Richard’s self-titled album. He called the openings of the singer’s ‘Good Golly Miss Molly,’ ‘Lucille’ and ‘Tutti Fruitti’ volcanic and stunning.
