Ted Nugent has spoken about the LGBTQ+ in a new YouTube video while discussing his chat with Pierce Morgan.
“Figuratively speaking there’s still some skull tissue from Pierce Morgan who thought he was going to get the guitar player that CNN said, ‘Well let’s get Nugent, we’ll get Pierce Morgan. He’s really street savvy, he’ll get Nugent.’ No, he didn’t. I got him,” Nugent said. “Pierce admitted. You mess with Uncle Ted you lose. Michael Moore tried it. I mean the guy’s a fat slob.”
“Pete Buttigieg, you know what? I love gay guys, I write songs with gay guys, I love gay guys that are honest have integrity, and bust their ass to be in the asset column, gay guys that show up on time and actually put their heart and soul into being in the best that they can be. Nobody cares if you’re gay, nobody gives a rat’s ass,” the musician added.
Nugent hasn’t been shy to share his thoughts about the community. In another one of his interviews, Nugent responded to the backlash he received for homophobia, saying he ‘has black gay friends. “By the way, Doug Pinnick is a black gay guy and I love him. ‘Well, Nugent is like a racist homophobe,’ except for all the black gay guys I hang out with. It’s hysteric. Doug Pinnick, what a fire-breathing talent, what a soulful guy,” he explained.
The musician did not just slam the community itself, but the brands who support it. Nugent became one of the names that criticized Bud Light for working with a trans person. He said of the campaign: “How can they possibly have a meeting around the table and come to the conclusion that they’re going to piss in the face of the people who pay their salaries? This is the epitome of cultural deprivation in an ongoing tsunami of cultural deprivation.”
While Nugent still claims that he loves gay people, his comments in interviews and his other YouTube videos don’t add up.
