The Pretty Reckless is back in the studio to finish their fifth studio album, according to a recent Instagram post from Taylor Momsen.
The frontwoman wrote under a photo of the recording room, “A lot of news coming the next few weeks…starting with this, had to take a break for AC/DC, but, it’s that time again.”
The update came months after Momsen revealed to SiriusXM’s ‘Trunk Nation’ that the album was on hold and didn’t have a release date yet.
“But we booked — we’ve locked up the studio for eight months,” she explained. “It takes us a while to make a record. But it was going amazingly [before we paused the sessions in order to hit the road]. Hopefully, when we pick back up in September, it’ll be the same kind of flow, and everything will just jell. But a lot of it’s written.”
The Pretty Reckless entered the studio back in early 2023, shortly before their tour with AC/DC kicked off. Their latest album, ‘Death by Rock and Roll,’ came out in 2021, produced by Jonathan Wyman.
The band started working with Wyman following the death of their long-time producer Kato Khandwala in 2018. Photos from the recording sessions confirmed their reunion for the new LP in January.
