Taylor Momsen has been bitten by a bat on stage and thinks it rocks.
During one of The Pretty Reckless’ recent shows, where they were opening for AC/DC, Momsen got bit by a bat. In the middle of their song ‘Witches Burn,’ a bat landed on her leg and didn’t leave until the end of the performance. The rocker shared the fan-recorded moment on Instagram and wrote:
“So… ROCK AND ROLL MOMENT… in Sevilla Wednesday during ‘Witches Burn’ of all songs… a bat flew onto me and clung to my leg… In the moment I was performing and had no idea until the incredible crowd kept screaming and pointing…”
She also mentioned that although the bat was cute, she would have to get rabies shots:
“He was cute, but yes he bit me… So rabies shots for the next two weeks. Thanks to all the staff at the hospital who dubbed me batgirl after seeing it on the local news that morning… More footage to come… That’s one for the books!”
‘The Bat Will Be My New Friend’
The singer also shared a video of the moment, and close-up photos of the bat on her leg. She also shared clips from her trip to the hospital.
In the video, she was on stage saying:
“You guys are pointing at something and I don’t know what you’re saying.”
She later realized the bat and said:
“There’s a f*cking flying bat on my leg right now. Can someone help me please? Eeek! I must really be a witch.”
Some crew members came to her rescue, and she reassured the crowd with:
“It’s alright, and the bat’s fine. He’s gonna be my new friend.”
The Similarity To The Ozzy Incident
Later on, she posted another video on her page to give more details about what went down. In the video, she showed her backstage, probably before heading to get checked out. She said:
“I really don’t want a rabies shot, and he scared the s— outta me, and he wanted to be my friend. And all the fans kept trying to tell me, and they were like, pointing and I didn’t know what the f*ck they were saying. I thought I’d like, lost, a bracelet… tampon’s out? I don’t know, that’s happened before.”
Some commenters resembled the incident to Ozzy Osbourne’s bat incident. One said:
“Luckiest bat ever! Flew away saying, ‘Thank God that wasn’t Ozzy!’”
Another said:
“Ozzy? Was that you?! But seriously glad you’re okay! This was definitely one for the books. And during ‘Witches Burn’ too!”
