The late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins’ son Shane might have been the new drummer of the band. At least that’s what some fans want to see.
The band recently played in the London Stadium, and Shane joined the crew to perform ‘I’ll Stick Around.’ He got behind the drum kit and played the song from the band’s self-titled album.
The frontman Dave Grohl told the audience:
“We particularly like it when he plays this song.”
Fans Loved The Performance
Fans loved to see Shane play the song. In the comments section of the footage, some shared their thoughts about Shane, saying he could be the new drummer of the band. One user wrote:
“I’m convinced that they’ll let him grow up just some years and after that he’ll be the drummer.”
Another added:
“I would love to see Shane become the permanent drummer! That’d be a really cool story! But if he wants to do his own thing I wouldn’t hold it against him one bit.”
Another one respectfully said:
“No disrespect to the current drummer but surely Shane will become the regular drummer before long.”
Shane’s Past Shows With Foo Fighters
Shane also took place in his father’s tribute show as the drummer. He performed ‘My Hero’ with the band at the September 2022 tribute concerts.
Taylor Hawkins passed away back in March 25, 2022. His spot in the band was filled last year by Josh Freese.
