“It doesn’t bother me … I just kindly correct people,” the ‘Scouting for Christmas’ star told PEOPLE of mispronunciations

The star, 46, recently told PEOPLE that she’ll just “kindly correct” people whenever they say her name incorrectly.
“I will tell you this, there are times I even forget how my name is pronounced,” Mowry-Housley said, before explaining the proper pronunciation.
“I always knew it was Moory. Yeah, I think of M-O-O-R-Y,” the actress clarified, then spelling out how to pronounce her first name: “T-A-M-I-R-A.”

Mowry-Housley, who is married to winery owner , emphasized that she understands how easy it can be to get a name wrong.
“I actually have grace. It doesn’t bother me. I understand,” she said. “As a talk show host, I get it — the anxiety that comes up when you’re like, ‘Oh my gosh, I have to say that. I hope I say it right.’ ”

“Now, if you’ve heard me say it five times and then you say it wrong, then it’s like [c’mon],” Mowry-Housley, who has a holiday partnership with , further explained.
In Scouting for Christmas, which premiered Oct. 20 on Hallmark Channel, Mowry-Housley plays a single mom named Angela, who is working to balance her real estate career while raising a 10-year-old daughter.
“You have the moms who are able to be there every waking moment of their child’s life, and that’s wonderful. There’s also working moms trying to make ends meet and live out our dreams,” she said. “Everyone has different avenues, and you have to do what’s right for you and your family. But as long as you are doing your best, you are doing enough.”
