Stryper singer Michael Sweet has shared his thoughts on the recent incident Tenacious D members were involved in.
The frontman took to Instagram and shared Jack Black’s apology post as a screenshot. In the caption, Sweet shared his respects for the Tenacious D singer’s decision. He wrote:
“I respect Jack Black for posting this. At least he’s willing to admit when the line was crossed between right and wrong. No matter who you are or what side you’re on, you can’t condone hate and or violence. Ever.”
What Kyle Gass’ Joke Caused
On July 14, the day after Trump was shot at a rally in Pennsylvania, Tenacious D performed in ICC Sydney Theatre for Gass’ 64th birthday.
During the show, Black brought out a birthday cake for Gass onstage and asked him to make a wish. Gass said:
“Don’t miss Trump next time.”
Both Black and Gass apologized on social media in response to the comments. However, Gass later deleted his apology. Gass has been fired by his talent agent, Michael Greene of Greene Talent, because of his joke about the attempt on Trump’s life.
Tenacious D later canceled all remaining dates on their Spicy Meatball Tour and future creative projects.
