Australia’s ‘Everblack’ podcast recently asked Steve Harris if Iron Maiden had any plans for new music. Harris confirmed no plans for a record in the near future but kept the door open to the possibility.
“No, not at the moment. There’s nothing in the works at the moment. But that’s not to say there won’t be,” the bassist shared.
The band’s most recent album, ‘Senjutsu,’ saw release in September 2021. The record was their first release in six years, and it appears the wait for the next album could be just as long.
“Bruce [Dickinson] has only just done his solo tour,” Harris explained. “So, he spent quite a long time just doing that. So, I don’t know. Yeah. I mean, maybe we’ll find time to cram [a new album] in somewhere. You never know.”
Bruce Dickinson’s tour for his latest solo album, ‘The Mandrake Project,’ wrapped up in July. He is now getting ready to join Iron Maiden on the 2024 leg of The Future Past Tour.
The band began their world trek in May 2023. After a break following their show in Indio, US, on October 6, 2023, they’ll continue playing live until the end of this year. The Future Past Tour’s next date will take place in Perth, Australia, on September 1.
