The fourth and final season of Evil just released on Paramount+, but that isn’t stopping the king of horror Stephen King from demanding more episodes of the acclaimed streaming series. Evil stars Katja Herbers, Mike Colter, Aasif Mandvi, and Michael Emerson in a series about people with distinct backgrounds investigating supernatural occurrences that may have ties to the origin of evil. Although the series was canceled by Paramount+ ahead of its fourth season, King is a big fan of Evil and has made public his desire to see it return with more episodes.
Stephen King went to X/Twitter to demand more Evil, posting a clear but concise message directed at the streaming service, saying, “Dear Paramount+: More EVIL, please.” The legendary horror author is not alone, of course, as he is joined by fans and critics alike who also want more Evil. Moreover, Katja Herbers, who plays forensic psychologist Dr. Kristen Bouchard, replied to King on X/Twitter, thanking him for his sentiment and presumably agreeing with it, saying, “From the bottom of our Evil hearts, thank you!!!.
This isn’t the first time King has expressed his love for Evil, either. Herbers had previously posted a clip on X/Twitter that included King praising the series, with a caption that read “OKAY CAN WE DO THE PICK UP NOW? thank you @StephenKing #Evil.” King is no stranger to advocating for underrated shows, and Evil is the latest to join TheShockNews. It’s clear there is a desire for a fifth season of Evil, but there is currently no sign that it is in the cards at Paramount+. However, the series co-creator already had a creative vision for the unmade Season 5.
What Evil Season 5 Could’ve Looked Like According to Co-Creator
In an interview with TV Insider,Evil co-creator Robert King (not related to Stephen King, by the way) teased what could’ve been more of a focus plot-wise, transitioning from the events of Season 4 to Season 5. Taking inspiration from the first two episodes of the latest season, the unmade fifth season would have seen the supernatural-investigating trio be more involved in the court system, and a larger focus on how demons infect the courthouse.
“You saw a little of it in the first two episodes. We were going to do more with court and the court system and how demonic it can be. There were going to be more demons kind of infecting the courthouse and [Katja Herbers] Kristen was going to have to be much more involved. All three would have to testify.”
The series finale of Evil left the door open for everyone’s return, even though it left the characters in a good spot. The main trio has now dispersed, but there is still plenty of evil left in the world to investigate if and when the time comes. However, Robert King told TV Insider that despite the clear opportunity to return to the world of Evil, the finale was specifically created to be the last time audiences see these characters, explaining, “we really wanted to end the show in a way that was satisfying to us as well as an audience, and hence the ending you saw.”
