Former Sri Lankan cricketer Sachithra Senanayake was given bail by the Colombo Chief Justice of the Peace’s courtroom in Colombo on Monday. He was arrested by the Sports activities Corruption Investigation Unit and later remanded by the courtroom early this month over match-fixing allegations, apart from being banned from travelling abroad by the courtroom. He performed a solitary Take a look at, 49 ODIs and 24 T20 Internationals between 2012 and 2016. The courtroom granted him bail on a few private sureties of Sri Lankan Rupees 5 million every, as he had not tried to affect proof towards him.
Senanayake, an off-spinner, was accused of making an attempt to repair the video games of the 2020 version of the Lanka Premier League, throughout which he had allegedly enticed two gamers to repair video games over the phone.
Since being remanded, he has undergone a voice check in connection to phone conversations, that are a part of the investigation.
