In a new interview with Complex, Snoop Dogg recalled meeting the bassist Beatle Paul McCartney.
“I’m in the back smoking and they’re like, ‘Sir Paul would like to meet you,’” Snoop recalled. “So I’m like, ‘Oh, for real? Hold on.’ [He] walks in the room like, ‘Don’t put [the joint] down.’”
The rapper didn’t expect McCartney to know who he was: “He gave me a hug and he meet me, and it’s like, ‘F*ck. Paul McCartney knows who the f*ck Snoop Dogg is!’”
But that’s not all. A fan of the Beatles, the rapper said he would love to collaborate with McCartney in a heartbeat:
“F*ck yes, in a heartbeat,” Snoop responded when asked if he would be interested in a collaboration. “‘Ebony and Ivory’? What, ‘The Girl Is Mine’? What you want to do?”
Earlier this year, photos surfaced of Snoop and McCartney backstage at a Jimmy Buffett tribute concert held at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles in April. Snoop performed a live version of his hit single ‘Gin and Juice,’ while McCartney and The Eagles teamed up for a joint performance of The Beatles’ ‘Let It Be,’ according to Complex.
