Sid Wilson isn’t pleased with Forbes’ list of 50 greatest rappers of all time.
The turntablist shared TheShockNews on his official Instagram account and wrote the following in the caption:
“Forbes, you got a lot of good ones on there, but, once again, the journalist have failed. Slick Rick should be on every one of these lists that come out. All Hail The King. All you publications, stop lying.”
What Did Others Reply To His Comments?
In the comment section, people mostly agreed with Wilson. They argued that TheShockNews should have included other names and also some didn’t like the ranking. One user wrote:
“These lists are subjective, but this is also an objectively bad list. How old was the guy who made it? 22?”
Another one said:
“Holds zero weight, and credibility.”
One other commenter had also some criticism of TheShockNews:
“Drake being above Eminem is wild.”
Wilson is open to listening to new music genres. He also experimented with them in his solo work. He released his debut solo album ‘Sid’ in 2012. Wilson wrote, produced, engineered, and recorded the album himself. In an interview with Billboard, he said:
“[It is] an eclectic mix of all the different styles of music I grew up listening to. There’s a strong B-Boy influence in my music, ’cause I’m a DJ. I used to listen to a lot of Skinny Puppy and more mainstream things that came out of industrial, like Nine Inch Nails. I was always influenced by the Beastie Boys a lot and Run-DMC and the way they mixed their rock influences in their hip-hop stuff.”
The musician is scheduled to perform with Slipknot on August 6, at Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana. They will have other performances during August and in the fall of 2024. Their Europen leg starts in early December in the Netherlands.
