Slash plans to return to working with Guns N’ Roses in 2025.
The guitarist recently joined Chuck Armstrong on Loudwire Nights and gave an update on his plans after releasing ‘Orgy of the Damned’ and his summer solo tour:
“I’m going into the studio with the Conspirators, getting a new record done, and then after that, 2025 is all about Guns N’ Roses.”
GNR Already Started To Work On The New Album
In an interview with Daily Star Sunday last month, Slash talked about his new blues record, ‘Orgy Of The Damned,’ and shared that Guns N’ Roses has been working on new music. When asked why Axl Rose and Myles Kennedy weren’t on his new album, he said it was a solo project:
“It was my own side thing, so I wasn’t dragging my own guys in.”
He mentioned he’s helping GNR with their album:
“Guns N’ Roses are trying to make their own record and I’m working with them in that capacity but this didn’t involve anyone else.”
Slash’s Words On His Blues Record
Slash’s second solo album, ‘Orgy of the Damned’ arrived on May 17. In the record, the rocker collaborated with many other musicians like Iggy Pop, Billy Gibbons, Gary Clark Jr., and Chris Stapleton. Still, he doesn’t want people to take it too seriously as a ‘blues record.’ Slash said in a chat with Rock Antenne:
“Everybody’s calling it a blues record and it is got a lot of blues on it. It’s got some R&B on it, it’s got some old school rock and roll on it. It’s really just a record of songs that I grew up listening to that I really dig and I just wanted to be able to record a covers record and be able to play that kind of guitar and whatever. So it’s not supposed to be taken seriously as a blues record.”
The guitarist also has his S.E.R.P.E.N.T. festival for this summer. His North American tour starts on July 5 at KettleHouse Amphitheater in Bonner, MT, and ends on August 17 at Texas Trust CU Theatre in Grand Prairie, TX.
