Slash wants to work on songs for his own taste for a while.
“And going forward, I would probably want to put out some bluesy records outside of Conspirators and Guns N’ Roses, things that are more oriented and focused in that way, where I can play that stuff and write that stuff for my own personal satisfaction,” the guitarist shared his future plans with Guitar World in a recent chat.
Slash also revealed his plans in June. He told Chuck Armstrong on Loudwire Nights, “I’m going into the studio with the Conspirators, getting a new record done, and then after that, 2025 is all about Guns N’ Roses.”
The rocker released his blues record, ‘Orgy of the Damned’ on May 17, 2024. The album features blues covers done with different musicians and singers like Billy Gibbons, Chris Stapleton, Iggy Pop, Paul Rodgers, Demi Lovato, Chris Robinson, and Beth Hart.
“Everybody’s calling it a blues record and it is got a lot of blues on it,” Slash previously told Rock Antenne about the album. “It’s got some R&B on it, it’s got some old school rock and roll on it.”
He continued, “It’s really just a record of songs that I grew up listening to that I really dig and I just wanted to be able to record a covers record and be able to play that kind of guitar and whatever. So it’s not supposed to be taken seriously as a blues record.”
The guitarist continues the S.E.R.P.E.N.T. festival this summer. His North American tour started on July 5 in Bonner, MT, and ends on August 17 in Grand Prairie, TX.
Last month, the guitarist canceled some shows on his ongoing tour after he lost his stepdaughter Lucy-Bleu Knight. Later, he paid tribute to the late artist with a heartfelt message on Instagram.
