Following his stepdaughter Lucy-Bleu Knight’s death, Slash called off multiple shows of his S.E.R.P.E.N.T tour.
The Guns N’ Roses guitarist made the following announcement on his Instagram to inform the fans:
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, the S.E.R.P.E.N.T tour regrettably has to cancel the below performances. Refunds will be available at points of purchase. July 22 – Cincinnati, OH – PNC Pavilion at Riverbend. July 24 – Interlochen, MI – Interlochen Center for the Arts. July 25 – Huber Heights, OH – Rose Music Center. July 27 – Windsor, ON – The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor. The S.E.R.P.E.N.T tour will resume in Toronto on July 28, 2024, at Budweiser Stage. We love our fans and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.”
In a follow-up post on IG again, Slash revealed Knight’s death, writing:
“Lucy-Bleu Knight (December 6, 1998), beloved daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight, stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Knight and Slash, sister of Scarlet Knight, stepsister of London and Cash Hudson, passed away peacefully in Los Angeles, California, on July 19, 2024. Lucy-Bleu was an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul. The family asks for privacy at this time and requests that social media speculation be kept to a minimum as they grieve and process this devastating loss.”
Slash Wants To Honor Blues Music
The rocker aims his S.E.R.P.E.N.T tour to be a celebration of blues. He announced the tour in March, saying:
“The S.E.R.P.E.N.T. tour is a celebration of blues and rock ‘n’ roll music, and a celebration of unity and togetherness in these uncertain and divisive times. S.E.R.P.E.N.T is a vehicle to help support and uplift people and communities suffering from the injustices of racism and equal rights violations, as well as to support children adversely affected by war and poverty across the world.”
Slash’s S.E.R.P.E.N.T tour will start again on July 28 in Toronto, Canada, and end on August 17 in Grand Prairie, Texas. The tour has Slash and his blues band with Johnny Griparic on bass, Teddy ‘ZigZag’ Andreadis on keyboards, Michael Jerome on drums, and Tash Neal on vocals and guitar.
