In a new interview with the Rebellious Remarks podcast, John Cooper slammed Sebastian Bach for rejecting fans due to politics.
After sharing a story about a famous rock DJ who refused to meet him at a recent show due to his political stances from 2020, the singer said, “We’re not even worth talking to for some people. Those things are going away. Certainly, there are places in the industry that have that. The industry is taking longer to be inclusive than the fans.”
Cooper continued, “Fans aren’t like that. The bands, for the most part, aren’t like that. Of course, you’ve got people like Sebastian Bach who are freaking out. Apparently, I’ve not heard this, but somebody told me, he said, ‘If you’re a Trump supporter, don’t even come to my show.’”
“I don’t know if that’s true or not. Pink telling anybody that’s pro-life, ‘Eff you. I don’t want you to listen to my music.’ Paramore. You do have some bands like that. But in the rock world, everyone I personally know is very inclusive,” he added about other names.
Bach has had a firm stance against Donald Trump for a while. In August, he criticized Trump’s comments about Kamala Harris. He shared a video of Trump’s speech from the National Association of Black Journalists conference and wrote, “If you yourself could watch this and say I’m gonna vote for this, you should flush your own head down the toilet.”
“I can’t watch footage of JFK from 1962. I can’t even watch that sh*t because I’ll cry. Because motherf*cker is so cool and so smart and hates racism. And then we have this f*cking jackass,” the singer also told Esquire about Trump in 2020.
Bach added, “And it’s just not fair to the country. I put Barack Obama in the same category. When I watch him speak, it rips my heart out because he makes you feel safe.”
Last month, Bach also responded to fans on X who told him to avoid discussing politics. After a fan asked if he talks politics during his shows, Bach said he speaks his mind and told those with a problem to stay home.
