During a Q&A session at last weekend’s Days Of The Dead convention in Indianapolis, Skid Row bassist Rachel Bolan was asked about the band’s current activities. The bassist revealed that they have been writing, and also looking for a new singer too. But apparently, Sebastian Bach is not among the names he plans to audition. He explained:
“We’re always writing, throwing ideas at each other. Right now we’re in the middle of looking for a singer. I hear all you guys rolling your eyes already. Our [last] singer, Erik [Grönwall], left to prioritize his health, [which was] understandable. So right now we’re just taking our time, because we have time. And we’ve got a couple guys on the radar that we’re gonna audition. And there’s also a couple of our friends that wanna do what Lzzy Hale did and sit in [on lead vocals] for a few shows. And that’s fun too. That was so much fun doing those [four] shows [with Lzzy in late May and early June].”
A Reunion With Bach Isn’t Happening
In many different interviews, the band members get asked about the possibility of reuniting with their former singer. More recently during an interview with The Hook Rocks podcast in May, Dave ‘Snake’ Sabo said there wouldn’t be a reunion with Bach:
“It’s not gonna happen. And I say the same thing every time. I’m thankful that people have such an interest in wanting to see that happen, but I also have to reiterate that this is about being happy in the situation that you’re in. So I’ll speak for myself personally.”
He also shared the reason why:
“I do need to say something too, is that the reason that this isn’t happening is because there’s three of us — myself, Scotti [Hill, Skid Row guitarist] and Rachel — who’ve had conversations about this, and we’ve all been on the same page that we don’t wanna go down that road again. We just — we don’t.”
Bach’s Message To Skid Row
Though it has been 28 years since the former frontman left the band, the rocker still sends some messages to the band from time to time.
Last year, Skid Row had to cancel numerous shows due to former frontman Erik Grönwall’s health issues. Although Grönwall eventually left the band, Bach later made some comments about the tour that might come out as a message for the band.
Bach took to Instagram to share a picture of himself and his team. In the caption, he revealed going on his 42nd show without any cancellations and ‘whining’:
“San Diego! Tonight is the last show of the tour. This is show 42. Zero cancellations. Zero whining. But lots of drinking.”
Regardless, it looks like Bach isn’t coming back to the band.
