In a new interview with Fox News Digital, Sid Wilson revealed when he’ll rejoin Slipknot after the bonfire accident.
“My whole right arm is bandaged up, half of my left arm,” the turntablist noted. “My face is basically melted from nose down. But the swelling’s gone down, and they said the face is kind of amazing that it’s regenerative, it happens real fast, seems to heal quickly.”
Wilson continued, “My energy’s not, I’m not going to let it get me depressed. The hardest part is just feeling stupid for doing it. That’s the hardest part. It’s not even the physical part. It’s like going, like, ‘Oh, man, I really learned that the hard way.’ I’ve got to make sure I just slow down sometimes and really examine the situation before I just dive in headfirst.”
“I’ll be there, man. I always find a way to pull it off,” the musician said of the band’s show on September 1 in Pryor, Oklahoma.
Last week, Wilson got hurt in a bonfire accident on a farm. In his first video update, he called it an ‘explosion’ while getting treated for burns in the hospital. He said, “I had an explosion in my face. I’m okay. I’m gonna be okay but I did have some serious burns to my face and arms.”
Sid continued in the video, “My eyebrows are singed. My mouth is blistered. My arms [are burnt] pretty bad — both my arms. I’m gonna be alright, you guys and I don’t care what it takes, I will see you on tour. I’m allergic to fire apparently.”
“They’re going to shave my head, so say goodbye to the long hair,” he explained in the second video. “If I’m on here talking to you the way I am, it’s not terrible. I will say, I do know better.”
Wilson also added, “So, everyone out there, be really safe when you’re messing with fire. [It’s] something I’ve dealt with tons of times. Of course, the one time I second guessed and go, ‘Oh, I’ll be all right… There were some leftovers and I got a little whoosh fire. It was not from a show, [it was from] out working on the farm.”
Later, Slipknot will also perform in Auburn, Washington on September 7, and in Ridgefield on September 8.
