Fans and celebs alike are continuing to mourn the passing of actress Shannen Doherty, who died on July 13 at the age of 53 following a long battle with breast cancer. Despite revealing that stage 4 breast cancer had spread to her bones, Doherty continued to work and stay active by attending conventions in support of past projects and joining the podcast space with her own show, Let’s Be Clear.
The podcast covered her cancer journey and was also a vehicle for Doherty to discuss various roles throughout her career. During the last episode, which was released on July 8, Doherty announced alongside her former Charmed co-star, Holly Marie Combs, that she would be joining the rewatch podcast The House of Halliwell. With Doherty’s passing, fans may be wondering how much the actress was able to record before her death, and now we have an answer.
The House of Halliwell is co-hosted by Brian Krause, who played Leo Wyatt on the popular supernatural series, and Drew Fuller, who played Chris Halliwell on the show. The podcast was actually launched in 2022 before going on hiatus. Despite declining to join the podcast previously, Doherty changed her mind and ultimately decided to be a part of a relaunched version of the show. In the episode released on July 14, Krause paid tribute to Doherty during the intro and revealed that the actress completed four episodes of the podcast before her passing.
“We were lucky enough to record four episodes in the last week or so, and Shannen was just so motivated and determined to help make this show a success and give all of you more insight into what it was in the making and the fun and the behind-the-scenes of Charmed.”
The Charmed Rewatch Podcast Will Carry on in Honor of Shannen Doherty
The first episode from the relaunched House of Halliwell features Doherty, Combs, Krause, and Fuller taking a look back at the pilot episode of Charmed, which premiered in 1998. During the tribute to the actress, Krause also revealed that he, along with Combs and Fuller, will keep the rewatch podcast going to honor their friend, and he left some of her fans a heartfelt message that acknowledged just how much they had meant to her over the years.

The Power of Three can stand against any amount of dark magic. And these characters helped make Charmed one of the best shows of the early 2000s.
“It gave her so much, emotionally, and meeting the fans and hearing the stories and knowing how much it meant to all of you, it filled her greatly and I know that she believed in the House of Halliwell to be the little bit that she was able to give back.”
Doherty portrayed Prue Halliwell on Charmed for three seasons of the series before departing at the end of Season 3. Rumors and speculation swirled as to why Doherty left the show, with some suggesting she was fired, while others expressed it was due to creative differences and clashing with her co-star, Alyssa Milano. Over the last few years, Doherty was able to take control of the Charmed narrative to present her side of the story. Through her appearances at different conventions and various interviews, the actress was able to reconnect with fans and old co-stars — although her relationship with Milano remained strained, something the Charmed actress referenced during her tribute to Doherty on social media following the actress’ passing.
