It’s not just major video games that will be included in Prime Video’s new anthology series, Secret Level, as an entire fire team of hugely popular actors have been revealed to have voice parts in the exciting new show. The series, by Love, Death & Robots creator Tim Miller, showcases original stories set in the universes of some of the most popular video games of all-time. The first trailer already revealed that Keanu Reeves would lend his face and voice to an episode, but a leaked second trailer has now revealed a bunch more famous faces and voices.
Reported by MP1st, the now deleted trailer unveiled numerous actors and celebrities who will star in various episodes of Secret Level. As well as Reeves, the show will also star Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kevin Hart, Temuera Morrison, Ariana Greenblatt, Emily Swallow, Gabriel Luna, Claudia Doumit, Heaven Hart, Ricky Whittle, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Merle Dandridgem, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Michael Beach, and Clive Standen. The leaked trailer was quickly removed through a takedown notice and is unavailable to view online, but it is expected that the footage will be officially released in the coming days.
Several members of the cast are regulars of the video game world. Claudia Doumit (best known for her role in The Boys) plays Farah Karim in the beloved Call of Duty franchise. Kevin Hart also brought video games to life on the big screen when he starred in Eli Roth’s Borderlands adaptation — although, he might want everyone to forget about that film. Secret Level is currently scheduled to be released on Prime Video on December 10, 2024.
Why Has a Video Game Anthology Taken So Long?
Creating a video game-based anthology series was an inspired choice by Tim Miller. Hollywood is still experimenting with video game adaptations on the big and small screen. 2023 and early 2024 saw major successes like The Last of Us and Falloutexorcise the “video game curse.” But, the backend of 2024 could prove disastrous once again, following the failed release of Borderlands and the upcoming A Minecraft Movie — which has the entire fan base skeptical.

Creating an anthology series out of beloved video games is an excellent method of testing which franchises could work well with larger adaptations. Secret Level features several games that fans have been begging studios to adapt to the big screen for years. Additionally, games like God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, and Warhammer 40k (which feature in Secret Level) already have movie adaptations in the works. An anthology series is a safe method of testing the water, as it allows filmmakers to freely experiment with adapting the games, with few repercussions.
Unlike a major Hollywood movie, which has the potential to tarnish a video game’s legacy, a single bad episode of an anthology series will do little to affect the pop-culture status of a video game. Alongside the aforementioned games, Secret Level will also include episodes focusing on Concord,Armored Core, Dungeons & Dragons, Crossfire, Honor of Kings, PAC-MAN, Exodus, The Outer Worlds, Sifu, Mega Man, and more.
